Blind Ambition WhatsApp Community Guidelines
Welcome to the Blind Ambition WhatsApp Community!
We have set up and run a network of WhatsApp groups to provide peer support for Blind and Visually Impaired (VI) individuals. These groups aim to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where members can connect, share experiences, and support each other.
Our WhatsApp groups cover a variety of topics, including:
- Blind Ambition Community Group (general discussion)
- Travel
- Cooking
- Positivity
- Employment
- Technology
- Announcements & Events
- VI Life Hacks
- Education
Living with visual impairment can sometimes feel isolating, and we hope these groups help reduce that feeling by fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Maintaining a Safe and Comfortable Environment
To ensure this remains a positive and welcoming space, we have established clear rules about what is and isn’t permitted. Please read them carefully.
🔹 Unsolicited private messages are not allowed. If someone contacts you privately without your consent, please report it to the admins.
🔹 Soliciting for business, products, or services is strictly prohibited, unless a member has explicitly requested recommendations.
- If someone asks about an app to fix a problem, it’s fine to reply in the group.
- Do not send promotional private messages or publicly push a specific product or service.
🔹 Respect members’ privacy.
- Avoid asking why someone joined, how long they’ve been a member, or other personal details in private.
- If you have such questions, ask in the public group so members can choose to respond (or not).
🔹 Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the group.
- People who feel isolated may also feel vulnerable, so we do not tolerate any behaviour that makes others uncomfortable.

2. Maintaining a Safe Space
This community is a safe and supportive space where members can share and seek help. Please be considerate of others’ experiences and feelings at all times. Show respect to all members and avoid giving unsolicited compliments or making remarks that may cause discomfort. When offering feedback, ensure it is constructive, helpful, and delivered in an encouraging manner. Any use of discriminatory, offensive, or abusive language is strictly prohibited.
3. Stay On-Topic
Keep discussions in their relevant subgroup to ensure focused and helpful conversations.
Keep messages concise and relevant to avoid overwhelming members. Excessive forwarding of content is discouraged.
4. Private Messaging
Do not send private messages to other members without their prior consent.
5. No Dating or Flirtation
This is a safe space, not a dating platform. Flirtatious or suggestive messages are strictly prohibited.
6. No Promotions or Selling Without Permission
To promote events, products, or services, you must get admin approval first.
7. No Spamming
Avoid sending unsolicited promotions, chain messages, or excessive messages that do not benefit the group.
8. Protecting Personal Information
Do not share another member’s phone number or private messages outside the group without their consent.
9. Reporting Concerns
If you receive an unsolicited private message or notice any behaviour that makes you uncomfortable, report it to the admins immediately via WhatsApp or email community@blindambition.co.uk.
Members who violate community rules may be removed.
All decisions made by the Blind Ambition Community Team are final.
Regular Rule Reminders – Admins will repost these rules regularly to ensure a safe and inclusive environment, especially for new members. Continued engagement in the community is an acceptance of these rules.
