Train the Trainer Programmes

Train the Trainer: Empowering Your Team from Within

At Blind Ambition, we know that for many businesses, a one-off Visual Awareness or Disability Awareness training session—delivered by our experienced team—is a powerful and effective way to begin the journey towards inclusivity.

But for organisations with large, dispersed teams or high staff turnover, it can be hard to bring everyone together in the same room. That’s where our Train the Trainer programme comes in.

What Is Train the Trainer?

  • Our Train the Trainer programme is designed to help your organisation embed inclusive practice at every level. Rather than relying on one-off sessions, we equip a group of internal champions within your organisation to deliver disability and visual awareness training to their colleagues on an ongoing basis.

You’ll still have the option of live training from us to kick things off—whether that’s with key stakeholders, managers, or your senior leadership team. But we then go further by training selected staff in-depth to become trainers themselves.

These trained champions will be able to:

    • Cascade disability awareness knowledge across teams

    • Reinforce a culture of inclusion and accessibility

    • Deliver ongoing awareness sessions confidently and effectively

    • Keep inclusion alive beyond the first training day

"When we train people to train others, we’re not just transferring knowledge—we're planting the seeds of culture change. This is about creating long-term champions for accessibility in every corner of your business."

What We Provide

We offer a comprehensive toolkit to support your in-house trainers, including:

  • Trainer-focused workshops on visual and disability awareness, built around real-life lived experience

  • Custom video content with discussion prompts (e.g. how might a blind person navigate a specific street or care setting?)

  • Distilled, ready-to-use slide decks that cover key concepts in accessibility, etiquette, and inclusive thinking

  • Case studies and discussion activities that bring the subject to life in practical and relatable ways

  • Support in identifying and mentoring internal champions

Why It Matters

When someone with a disability arrives at your business, they may already have faced barriers before they’ve even walked through the door. The stress of inaccessible transport, the difficulty of navigating unfamiliar buildings, or simply being misunderstood can affect their entire experience.

By training internal champions, you help your staff see the whole picture. They’ll start to ask questions like:

  • What challenges has this person already faced today?

  • How can I make their experience better?

  • What small adjustments can I make right now?

It might be as simple as offering someone a quiet space to gather themselves, a cup of tea, or the time to explain their needs without being rushed. But that small change can make a big impact.

Is It Right for Your Organisation?

If your teams are:

  • Spread across multiple sites

  • Frequently onboarding new staff

  • Supporting customers or patients with additional needs

  • Committed to long-term cultural change

…then Train the Trainer is the right next step in your journey.

Let’s build a future where accessibility is second nature, not an afterthought.
