Blind Ambition Professionals Network

Blind Ambition Professionals Network

At Blind Ambition, we have long championed the lived experiences of people with visual impairments. We also recognise the vital role that dedicated professionals play in enabling, empowering, and supporting this community every day.

This is why we have created the Blind Ambition Professionals Network, a new WhatsApp community designed especially for professionals who work with or support people with visual impairments.

Whether your role is clinical, educational, technical, or advisory, this is a space to share insights, discuss best practices, and connect with peers who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of supporting those with visual impairments.

Who is this network for?

We welcome professionals across a wide range of roles, including:

– Rehabilitation officers and mobility specialists
– Eye clinic liaison officers (ECLOs)
– Optometrists, ophthalmologists, and orthoptists
– Special educational needs (SEN) teachers and assistants
– Assistive technology trainers and suppliers
– Social workers and care coordinators
– Employment and skills advisors
– Charity support workers and volunteer coordinators
– Accessibility consultants and inclusion leads
– Designers and developers working on accessible products or services

And many more. If your work touches the lives of people with visual impairments in any way, we would love for you to join us.

Why join?

– Share expertise and learn from others: Exchange knowledge, practical tips, and resources with fellow professionals.
– Stay informed: Hear about the latest technology, services, and developments in the field.
– Build meaningful connections: Be part of a supportive network of people who understand the impact of your work.

"Behind every empowered blind or partially sighted person, there is often several professionals making inclusion possible. That’s why this network matters — it recognises and brings together the people who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to support our community. By connecting these changemakers, we can amplify our impact, share innovation, and drive real change for the visually impaired community."
