We are excited to announce that Seema Flower, Managing Director of Blind Ambition, will be attending the Street Works UK Awards 2024 at the prestigious House of Commons Members’ Dining Room on Thursday, 10th October. This event will bring together leaders and innovators from the street works sector to celebrate excellence and innovation in the industry.

Seema, as a new member of HAUC UK (Highways Authorities and Utilities Committee), will use this opportunity to highlight the importance of making street works accessible for all members of society. With her extensive experience advocating for disability inclusion and her work with Blind Ambition, Seema is uniquely positioned to raise awareness about the accessibility challenges faced by disabled individuals in navigating roadworks and public spaces.

Street works are essential for the infrastructure of our cities and towns, but it is vital that these works are carried out in a way that prioritises the needs of everyone, including those with disabilities. Seema’s involvement in this event will amplify the conversation around making our streets and public spaces safer and more accessible for all.

The Street Works UK Awards will honour companies, projects, and individuals who have demonstrated excellence across key themes such as innovation, communication, and community engagement. As Seema joins her colleagues from HAUC UK and industry leaders at the event, she will advocate for a future where accessibility is embedded in every street works project.

We are thrilled to see Seema take part in this prestigious event and look forward to the positive impact her contributions will make in shaping more inclusive and accessible street works practices.

Join us in celebrating Seema’s continued efforts to promote accessibility at the Street Works UK Awards 2024. The room opens at 7pm, with the awards ceremony starting at 7:30pm. Stay tuned for updates as Seema helps drive the movement for accessible streets for all.

If you have any questions about the event or accessibility requirements, please contact the Street Works UK team at info@streetworks.org.uk.
