Seema Flower Headlines Media360 With Powerful Call for Disability Inclusion

As one of the key speakers at Media360 Brighton 2025, Seema Flower took to the stage with a compelling message: disability inclusion must move from the margins to the mainstream — especially in the media industry.

Held on 20–21 May at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, Media360 brought together senior decision-makers from across the media ecosystem, including brands, agencies, and media owners, to spark ideas and shape the future of the industry. Seema’s session stood out as a vital reminder that inclusion is not complete without disability at the heart of the conversation.

Founder and Managing Director of the award-winning Blind Ambition, Seema is a globally recognised expert in Disabilities and Visual Awareness. Her Media360 talk continued her mission to challenge systemic exclusion and raise the profile of disability inclusion within one of society’s most influential sectors.

“The media has a powerful role to play,” Seema told delegates. “By showing the world as it really is, media can help every group — including blind and partially sighted people — feel seen, valued and part of society.”

Her session focused on how media companies can create more inclusive environments — not just through accessible recruitment, but in how they design content, shape narratives, and build internal cultures. Representation matters, and so does access. From the websites media brands publish on, to the images they commission and the teams they hire, inclusion needs to be built in at every stage.

While recruitment was just one aspect of her message, Seema did highlight the staggering reality that 75% of blind and partially sighted people in the UK are unemployed. It’s a statistic she refuses to accept — and one she’s actively working to change. Through her new inclusive recruitment portal, blindambition.co.uk/recruitment, Seema is creating a bridge between employers who want to be inclusive and visually impaired professionals who are ready to contribute.

Yet her talk wasn’t just about employment. It was about equity, dignity, and the power of visibility.

“Disabled people aren’t asking for special treatment — we’re asking for equal opportunity,” she said. “And the media, with its power to shape culture, can either perpetuate exclusion or lead the way in driving change. The Media can help everyone feel part of society – but only if everyone is seen and heard.”

Seema’s voice at Media360 was a clear signal that the industry is beginning to listen — but there is still work to do.
