Topic: Living with dementia during Lockdown

When: Thursday 21st May, 1pm-2.30pm

Host: Seema Flower, Founder & Alka Dass, Blind Ambition

Guest: Tim Beanland, Head of Knowledge, Alzheimer’s Society

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we will be running a free webinar that will look at how Alzheimer's Society have been supporting families, carers, care/nursing homes and those living with dementia during the Coronavirus and Lockdown period, as well as answer questions some may have such as:

  • What has coronavirus and the lockdown meant for people affected by dementia?

  • What challenges does it pose for people in their own homes or in care homes?

  • What advice can we give to help people overcome these challenges and where can I go for more support?

Tim has been with the Alzheimer’s Society for 9 years, during which he lost his own mother to dementia. Tim looks after the dementia content online and for printed publications, and lately that has meant responding to the developing coronavirus pandemic. Seema is Founder of Blind Ambition and is registered blind, she is Founder of Blind Ambition and has over 20 years experience in the Disability sector.
